Frequently asked questions and other helpful information...
How do you approach each wedding day?
Each couple & wedding are unique and diverse. I hope each couple finds in me a friend to offer support and guidance where needed on the long and often confusing wedding planning road. I collaborate deeply with each couple to ensure that their wedding day is a direct reflection of who they are as a couple. In depth planning and communication during the months leading up to the wedding are key to ensure that every couple has an enjoyable and stress free wedding day. During the wedding day I work discreetly and professionally to capture your wedding day as it unfolds naturally, with a mix of candids and editorial natural portraits. I offer gentle suggestions, a sense of humor when needed, and guidance on the wedding day to ensure that you have the best day possible. After each wedding, I will not disappear, but be available to send you a quick image for your thank-you cards, have coffee to look over your photos, and talk more about wedding albums and books if you are interested. Ultimately, I am here for you and to make certain you have a wonderful wedding experience with beautifully captured memories.
How would you define your photographic style?
My wedding photography style is mostly documentary with a balanced mix of editorial and candid portraiture. The results are natural, timeless, and iconic imagery that tells your wedding day story.
What are your rates?
Choosing a wedding photographer is not only a personal, but a financial decision. It is an investment not only on your actual wedding day, but in your future and the ability to enjoy and relive the moments and emotions of your wedding day with family and friends forever. Wedding collections start at $5000 with several different options, add-ons, and the ability to custom tailor your needs to your wedding day.
Where are you located? Are you available for travel?
I am located in the New York City area and available for travel worldwide. In fact, travel is one of my most favorite things and a huge part of my life. Whether you're exchanging vows at sunset on a secluded beach or saying I do in the desert, I can be there.
Do you photograph with film or digital?
All weddings I photograph are captured digitally with professional Canon cameras and lenses. Many of my images have a film look that is developed during editing.
Do you edit every photo?
Yes, I do! Each photo is individually edited to ensure you receive the best quality possible.
How many images will we see from our wedding?
Each wedding is a unique event and there is no set number of photos to receive. I also believe in quality over quantity. On average each wedding receives 600-1000 of the best photos of the day. The amount of photos depends on hours of coverage and events of the day. I make sure to cover all events and only edit out duplicates and images of missed expressions.
When can we see our photos?
Photos are usually ready to view 6 weeks after your wedding day. During high peak season (June through October) photo turn around time is 8 weeks. I touch base as soon as your photos are ready for viewing.
Do you work with a second photographer?
I will always have a second photographer at your wedding. There are many moments happening simultaneously and it is impossible for me to be everywhere. I work with a few second photographers that collaborate with me dependent on availability. I recommend having three photographers when the guest count is 250 and above. I do not recommend having one photographer unless it is an intimate wedding of 75 guests or less.
I am unsure of how many hours of photographic coverage I will need on my wedding day. What do you recommend?
We work together closely to put together a seamless timeline for your wedding day. I am happy to put together a rough draft timeline and guide you through the process to help you decide which is the appropriate coverage for your event.
Do you photograph Elopements?
Of course! Elopement sessions include 2-3 hours including getting ready, the ceremony, and portraits. Collections begin at $1600. Please email me for more information on destination elopements.
Do you have insurance and can you provide our venue with proof of insurance?
Of course! I have professional photography insurance and am happy to speak with your venue directly to ensure that they have a copy of my insurance.
What payments do you accept?
Payments and deposits can be made in check, bank transfer, or credit card. All transactions are made easily online through a secure network.
If we pay in cash can we avoid sales tax or receive a discount?
Unfortunately no, all payments, including cash, collected by the photography studio are subject to NJ sales tax.
If we cancel our wedding do we receive our initial retainer back?
Unfortunately no. Retainers are non-refundable. Once I receive a non-refundable retainer payment, I no longer accept clients for that day, since you have officially reserved the day for your event.
Do you offer a discount on week day weddings, Sunday weddings, or off-season weddings?
I am unable to offer reduced rates for any wedding, due to my experience, quality of service, and the costs of my team and production are the same for every wedding.
