Kate & Luke's Power Plant Productions Wedding Photography: Philadelphia, PA

Congratulations Kate and Luke!

How We Met:

Luke was out with some friends at a bachelor party, and I was out celebrating a friend's engagement. We met, exchanged some witty banter, and talked every single day since then. The one thing that stood out to me was that Luke would call me on the phone instead of texting. He would call me almost every night and I always looked forward to it! Luke proposed in Central Park, New York. It was a very hot day and I, of course, was complaining that I was really hot and hungry. Luke stopped at a park bench to take some selfies, which he never ever does, so I knew that something was off. He proposed right then and there, and I said, "Of course! Can we eat now?" We then got a couple of hot dogs and cheese fries. It was perfect.

The Wedding Day:

We had an urban, but intimate, relaxed, no pressure, local wedding day. We both live in Philadelphia, where we are raising two dobermans together, Knox and Scarlet, who are very much like our children. They attended the wedding in spirit and cardboard cut outs that managed to make their way around the entire evening. Our wedding consisted of neutral colors and was timeless, but incorporated a natural feel (Luke grew up on a farm in a town of 800!). We had no formal sit-down dinner because we wanted everyone up, mingling, and dancing. We love being social, having fun, and have a hard time taking anything seriously. Family and friends made the day really special by Luke's sister singing a song during the ceremony and family members officiated the ceremony.
