Gabby & Ak enjoyed an epic and elegant summer wedding day at Rosebud Estates in Arcade, NY. Their fairytale inspired day started early with an exchange of cards and gifts before beginning their wedding day. Ak received a custom watch, cuff links, and passport holder from Gabby, while she was surprised with custom Louis Vuitton wedding perfume. The two met each other for their first look barn side and then enjoyed some time with Spirit the local resident horse. After some truly magical fairytale moments, they tied the knot in an epic island ceremony surrounded by water where Josh Rice (a local actor) told their love story in theatrical fashion to all their friends and family. They kicked off their barn reception and danced into the night.
Originally I was going to wait until we went to Disney, but I was anxious and decided to do it on a random Saturday after we decided we were going to NYC for the day. It made me think of all the fun times we had in the city together so I thought it would be a good place to propose. When we got to Central Park we walked around until I found a great location on the Bow bridge where I knelt and asked.
It was August 13th 2016, we woke up one Saturday morning with no plans. We decided to go to the city and watch The Book of Mormon. After checking into our hotel AK had this brilliant idea of going to Central Park on a 99 degree day with no breeze to walk around and sightsee. I figured yeah this won't last long.. we are both dripping sweat and we just got here. One location after another and he was still determined to keep going.. I kept thinking man he's in a weird mood this is so out of character for him, but he's super determined to go see this fountain and this bridge. We finally made it to the fountain and he unenthusiastically shrugged his shoulders and decided we needed to go to the bridge while I was trying to take pictures of this "very important" fountain we needed to sweat out 10lbs to see. I followed him over to Bow Bridge where we stopped about midway and began to overlook the water and the city skyline. He grabbed my hand and started going over every trip we have ever had to the city and all the great memories we have shared in a place so dear to our hearts. I felt his hand start to get even clammier than it should for the hot day and that's when he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I was completely shocked because he kept telling me he had this elaborately planned proposal and we literally made these plans that morning! We then sat on a bench near by where I admired my ring as we called our family to share the news.
