Aren & Kiara's The George and Pig & Prince Engagement Photography: Montclair, NJ

Another incredible engagement session wrapped! Aren & Kiara met me for a spring engagement session full of inclement weather and laughs in their favorite town of Montclair NJ. They both love, Montclair and the town has many restaurants, shops, and streets that hold meaningful memories from throughout their relationship. We began the session at The George, a boutique hotel, where Aren & Kiara will get ready the morning of their wedding day. I cannot wait to head back in a couple months to take advantage of the beautiful rooms and decor while they are getting ready. Next we headed to one of their favorite restaurant, Pig & Prince to explore the area and enjoy the incredible architecture inside the restaurant. We wrapped up the session with sore cheeks from smiling and wandered the streets of Montclair.

The Proposal

From Kiara:

The day Aren proposed to me was the day we were celebrating 3 years together. He had gone out of his way to place a dress on hold for me to wear on our date to see Anastasia on Broadway (a childhood favorite movie of mine). Afterwards we rode back into town and he took me to get frozen yogurt at the same spot we decided to date and spend our lives together just over 3 years prior. When we entered there were balloons and a photographer and he asked me to marry him. I said yes of course and in a daze we ate frozen yogurt together, had a mini photo shoot downtown and then went to Essex Junction in Bloomfield where all of our friends and family had gathered to celebrate with us. It was a magical day.

From Aren:

The proposal was difficult for me because I wanted to make it something memorable and over complex, but where would I find time to train multiple corgis to perform a flash mob engagement? Instead I decided to plan a day with several events that would incorporate multiple aspects of your relationship. First, we went to a play in NYC called Anastasia which happened to be one of her top 3 animated movies. Second, we got to dress up for the play and she got to wear a beautiful dress along side me in my suit. Third, I actually proposed at the site where we had our next morning conversation and first decided to get married...we also got free frozen yogurt. Last, we had a small engagement party where friends and family joined us hours after I proposed to congratulate us and take a ton of pictures!

Wedding Day Anticipations:

We are looking forward to getting ready with our close family and friends and having pictures to capture all of the silly and special moments of the group together.  At our sibling's wedding we got a sense of what the ceremony would be like, but we can't wait for ours. Our church ceremony if going to be a very special moment for the both of us knowing that we are committing to one another officially. We'll be solidifying the promises we've already made each other in front of all the people that mean the most to us. Afterwards, of course, the reception and DANCE PARTY! We love to dance with each other and we love to see everyone dancing with us. So, this is where we'll get to go all out! We want everyone to be laughing and loving life with us and enjoying the time they took to come spend celebrating.

Ak & Gabby's Fall Central Park Engagement Photography: NYC

I met Ak & Gabby bright and early in Central Park (because that is the only time you can take photos in the park with no tourists in the background) for their fall engagement session. Ak proposed last year in the park, so it made the perfect backdrop for their engagement session. We had incredible weather, beautiful light, and the park mostly to ourselves for a fun filled and romantic tour around the park.

The Proposal: It was August 13th 2016, we woke up one Saturday morning with no plans. We started googling things going on around Danbury, CT and in NYC/Philadelphia. We decided to go to the city and watch The Book of Mormon. After checking into our hotel AK had this brilliant idea of going to Central Park on a 99 degree day with no breeze to walk around and sightsee. One location after another and he was still determined to keep going.. I kept thinking man he's in a weird mood this is so out of character for him, but he's super determined to go see this fountain and this bridge. We finally made it to the fountain and he unenthusiastically shrugged his shoulders and decided we needed to go to the bridge while I was trying to take pictures of this "very important" fountain we just needed to sweat out 10lbs to see. I followed him over to Bow Bridge where we stopped about midway and began to overlook the water and the city skyline. He grabbed my hand and started going over every trip we have ever had to the city and all the great memories we have shared in a place so dear to our hearts. I felt his hand start to get even clammier than it should for the hot day, that's when he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I was completely shocked because he kept telling me he had this elaborately planned proposal and we literally made these plans that morning! We then sat on a bench nearby where I admired my ring as we called our family to share the news. We have been wedding planning ever since!

Molly & Aaron's New York City Engagement Photography: Grand Central & Central Park, NYC

Wow! These two had me laughing for an entire two hours. We had a mini NYC engagement tour of all Molly & Aarons favorite places in NYC. We visited Grand Central where they caught the train everyday, St Regis where they had their first date, and explored Central Park. Molly & Aaron met at work in NYC awhile back, when they bonded over their common love of the Buffalo Bills & Western Upstate New York. "We've been obsessed with each other ever since," says Molly.  Aaron completely surprise Molly with his proposal on a rooftop bar in Rochester, NY, where they will have their wedding next year. I can't wait!

Kate & Luke's Liberty State Park Winter Engagement Photography: Jersey City, NJ

We talked about it, we hoped for it, we tried to schedule around it, and we got lucky. SNOW. Kate told me she would love a winter engagement session with snow. The weather said maybe snow for the session, but as soon as we met at the park it started snowing. It snowed during our entire session and made for gorgeous winter photos. With the snow came extremely chilly temperatures, but Kate and Luke laughed through the whole session and were incredibly awesome to work with.

Leslie & Mitch Engagement: Bridgehampton, Long Island

I recently had the pleasure of spending a day with Mitch and Leslie at their home in Bridgehampton Long Island to take some engagement photos of the two. We explored their beautiful home and local area and were able to capture some stunning imagery. The two absolutely adore one another and I cannot wait to photograph their wedding next month in NYC.

Amanda & Danny: Sandy Hook Engagement, NJ

Here is a peek into Danny & Amanda's recent engagement session at Sandy Hook Beach, NJ. The beach is a special place for the couple with Amanda's childhood summers spent by the shore and Danny's marriage proposal at sunrise on the beach last summer. The two spent most of the session laughing and giggling together, but we did manage to take a few gorgeous images. I can't wait to see them tie the knot this August!

Maria & Chuck: Manasquan Inlet Engagement, NJ

Here is a glimpse into Maria & Chuck's recent engagement session! The weather in the NJ area has been beautiful the past couple weeks and we lucked out in December with a beautiful 60 degree day to have some fun near their home in Manasquan. The Manasquan Inlet provided a beautiful location for the photos and we finished just in time for the Sunday football game. I can't wait to see these two get married in 2016.
