Brittany & Tim's The Ryland Inn Winter Wedding Photography: Whitehouse Station, NJ

Tim & Brittany enjoyed an incredibly romantic, elegant, and classic day for their winter wedding at the The Ryland Inn in New Jersey. The day started early with an exchange of cards and gifts before beginning their wedding day. Tim received a signed NFL Jersey, honeymoon cruise, and surprise boudoir book from Brittany, while Tim surprised Brittany with a new camera for their upcoming honeymoon trip. Their day was filled with custom details including surprise purses for their moms that included a childhood photo printed on the inside lining, special cuff links for both dads, and signature cocktails. After their emotional first look, the two tied the knot in a candle lit ceremony before the fireplace and danced the night away to the Silver Arrow Band.

The Proposal

His Version:

Our proposal was the best disaster of my life. After watching the weather for 2 weeks straight, the day finally came and so did the rain; torrential rain! I had a plan to walk downtown to meet her parents for "dinner" and propose on the Hoboken waterfront under a gazebo; however that plan had to be changed due to weather. I made my own gazebo type structure in the backyard of our apartment with a huge tent and decorated it with Christmas lights and candles with the help of Britt's sister and my parents. Although I was stressed, I was never nervous as I knew I found the love of my life. To be honest the tent turned out better than the gazebo would have and we had privacy instead of being in the public eye. After she said "YES," we headed down to a local bar where all of our friends and family were there waiting for us. We had a huge party and celebrated all night.

Her Version:

I remember meeting Tim at one of the first parties of college. I saw this giant man in the backyard and started up a conversation. He told me he had Public Speaking 101 and I was giving him random topics to give speeches about. He doesn't remember that, but he was so funny I would never forget. I don't think I saw him again for a couple of weeks at a bar, and that's when he thinks we first met LOL. I work nights, so when I got home from work Saturday morning I went to sleep. We had plans to go out to dinner with my family for Mother's Day, so my sister came over early and we got ready. When I went to open the door, I saw rose petals in the hallway leading out to the backyard of our apartment. So confused, Tim walked me outside where there was a big white tent with candles, roses and pictures in it. It was raining and I didn't have any shoes on, but it was still the most romantic day of my life :)

Wedding Planning Tip:

BHLDN has the most beautiful wedding accessories and bridesmaid's dresses and is pretty inexpensive compared to other designers. Zola was one of the best decisions we made (besides having you as our photographer)-- you can make your website, registry, thank you cards all on the same website [and you don't need to go into stores to register for anything- all done online!]
